When veterans return from war, they often come back “broken,” says Dr. Jody Skaufel of Northwestern Health Sciences University.
That’s why doctors and other professionals at Northwestern have spent months reaching out to the veterans’ community in the Twin Cities to try to help relieve injured vets’ pain with chiropractic, acupuncture and massage therapy. Those are three of the disciplines taught at the respected national health sciences university, based in Bloomington, MN.
KARE-TV, the Twin Cities’ NBC affiliate, spent time at Northwestern profiling efforts to build bridges between the university community and the veterans community by bringing down the pain.
